Pianist Joana Gonzalez is featured soloist in April 24 VBCO Concert

The Vero Beach Chamber Orchestra is delighted to present acclaimed pianist, Joana Gonzalez, as the featured soloist in Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor, Op. 37 in concert on April 24, 2022. The performance will be at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center at 2:00 PM.

The Vero Beach Chamber Orchestra, a valued artistic asset of the Indian River County cultural community, originally programmed the 2020 season to celebrate Beethoven’s 250th birthday, but COVID forced a belated birthday celebration.

“250th?  252nd?  Who’s counting! Happy Birthday, Beethoven!” joked VBCO President, Dwight Holmes.

Ms. Gonzalez, a South Florida native of Hispanic descent, has appeared as a solo artist and lecturer throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Spain, Italy, Austria, and Luxembourg.  She received her degree in keyboard performance at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, studying under renowned pianist Santiago Rodriguez.

As the first-place winner of the New World Symphony’s Side by Side competition, she performed with the New World Symphony, and as the second-place winner of the American Protégé International Competition, she performed at Carnegie Recital Hall.   She has also performed in Florida with the Alhambra Orchestra and the Imperial Symphony.

Also on the program is Beethoven’s Symphony No.  7 in A Major, OP. 92, one of Beethoven’s most beautiful and popular symphonies.

The concert is free.  Donations are appreciated.
