Laura (Riding) Jackson Foundation hosted our first ever LRJF Writers Showcase last Saturday, Feb 19. About 60 people showed up and lots of interesting wisdom and craft was shared. We celebrated our amazing volunteer Elliott Jones. Elliot has given so much to our Foundation that honoring him seems hardly enough! We gave him an LRJ birdhouse and said some words. His entire family was there, and it was quite an emotional moment.
We moved the event into the Richardson Center because of weather, and it proved a wonderful space. Lots of room, comfortable surroundings, and you can never underestimate the joy of a nearby bathroom!
The event showcased LRJF local authors, writers and poets who gave suggestions and tips. People loved hearing wisdom from our writers, and it was fun to watch people wandering and chatting with authors about their books.
A lot of work and effort went into this event, and it’s safe to say that it was a hit and it represented our Foundation well!
