Ballet Vero Beach announces Program3: Studio to Stage

BALLET VERO BEACH ANNOUNCES Program 3: Studio to Stage
April -10, 2022

Contented sighs and hearty guffaws abound in this epic program!

Ballet Vero Beach is thrilled to announce Program 3: Studio to Stage April 8-10 at The VBHS Performing Arts Center. The company promises continued safe live performances, digital offerings, unique experiences, and programming for all!

Ballet Vero Beach’s 2021-2022 Season concludes with a program that promises to illicit some of our favorite responses: contented sighs and hearty guffaws! Take a journey with the company from hilarious toiling in the studio to the thrilling heights of technical accomplishment. The supremely classical and ambitious Bournonville Divertissement returns to showcase Danish style at its best, and Peter Anastos brings his comedic skewering of ballet schools everywhere to the Ballet Vero Beach stage in the iconic Ecole de Ballet.

Bournonville Divertissement (last seen at Ballet Vero Beach in 2017) is a tour de force journey into the work of Danish master choreographer August Bournonville (1805-1879). Bournonville’s signature style greatly influenced choreographers such as George Balanchine and is known for its technical, yet approachable nature. Ecole de Ballet (Ballet School) is one of Emmy winning choreographer Peter Anastos’s most madcap and endearing works. Ballet Vero Beach’s production will feature scenery designed by Emily Luongo and Anna Cable, costumes by Ballet Vero Beach’s lead costumer Amy Voogd, and a cast chocked full of nutty characters. Celebrate the end of Ballet Vero Beach’s 9th season with a truly wonderful program.

As a continued thank you to all our patrons, and in an effort to continue to make our programming accessible, all productions for the season, including Program 3, will be available in our hugely popular Watch at Home format. Check the website for additional details. Also, our Accessible/Family Friendly Series performance (featuring Bournonville Divertissemen) for this program will take place April 10 at 2:00pm. These extra special abbreviated performances are specifically geared to the needs of the differently abled individuals of our community and also young children. Performances include: modified audio/visual effects and venue setup that meets the needs of all attendees with differing abilities. Performances are a bit more informal and may include Q&A sessions or opportunities to take photos with a dancer. For Accessible/Family Friendly performances, all seats are $10 and free tickets are available to Ticket Donation Program partners.
