Mary Lynne Ahlstrom, 79, Vero Beach

Mary Lynne Ahlstrom, age 79, of Vero Beach, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022.
She was born July 18, 1942, in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Mary Lynne had worked as a successful Manufacturer’s Representative both in the Midwest and later with her husband, Arlen, in Florida.
She is survived by her husband, Arlen; brother, Ron Peterson; sons, Jeff and Randy; and five grandchildren, Jordan, Alex, Nico, David, and Jenna.
Mary Lynne was predeceased by her father, Victor Peterson, her mother, Erma Peterson and her son, Greg Thomas.
A Celebration Party will be held 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. on January 29, 2022 at the Italian American Club, 1600 25th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Donald P. Louis, 69, Vero Beach
January 16, 1952 – January 07, 2022
Donald P. Louis, 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Friday, January 7, 2022. He was born January 16, 1952 in Richland Center, WI to Ferdinand and Hulda (Nelson) Louis. He was a 1970 graduate of Ithaca High School and moved to Vero Beach in 1985. He worked as an Operations Supervisor at Gracewood Fruit Packing, now Indrio Brands, for close to 35 years. In addition to being a devoted husband, father and grandfather, Don was a great friend and coworker to many here in Vero.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Tiny Louis; siblings, Jim (Ellen) Louis, Mike (Janet) Louis, Betty Louis and Janie Louis, all of Richland Center, WI; children, Rockette (Mike) Haberlack of Long Beach, NY and David Queen of Vero Beach, FL; grandchildren, Stephen (Jenna), Randy, Brandy, AJ, Alyssa, Mikayla and Lindsey; great grandchildren, Paxton and Paisley. His love and patience was a blessed gift to us all. He is predeceased by his parents and granddaughter, Jessica Haberlack.

Glen Mathia, 67

Glen Mathia, age 67, passed away on December 16th, 2021 at Loggerhead Marina in Vero Beach, Fl.
Glen was born in Bell County, Texas.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his two daughters Amanda and Lauren; four siblings Jeannine, Phyllis, Barbara, and Jimmy; and four grandsons Brandon, Cameron, Ayden, and Ethan.
Glen is predeceased by his parents Rudolph and Lorraine Mathia.
A small gathering will be held on his birthday, with details to come.

Gertrude Laue Peterson, 99, Vero Beach
June 06, 1922 – January 06, 2022
Gertrude Laue Peterson, age 99, passed away on January 6th, 2022 at Regency Park of Vero Beach.
She was born in Washington, DC.
Gertrude attended and graduated from the Roosevelt High School in Washington, DC.
She was an executive secretary for the U.S. Government, a homemaker, and Mother. Gertrude was a member of the Lutheran Church of St. Andrew in Silver Spring, MD. and was the first female president of her congregation. She was also a member at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Boonsboro, MD. Gertrude taught adult education in Bible studies in both churches.
Gertrude volunteered with the PEO (a national Philanthropic and Educational Organization) and a former President of Chapter T in Washington, DC. Although Gertrude was legally blind, she was able to handcraft and crochet over 200 baby blankets that were donated to her local hospital (now Cleveland Clinic of Vero Beach).
Survivors include daughters Pat Ross of Spencer, Tennessee; Kathy Morton (Perry) of Vero Beach, Florida; son Jim Peterson (Noni) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; six grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Gertrude was predeceased in death by her loving husband Edwin Peterson.

Arlene Amoretti, 82, Barefoot Bay
April 17, 1939 – December 22, 2021
Arlene Amoretti, 82, of Barefoot Bay, FL., passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 with her family by her side. Arlene was born to the late Simon and Ethel Klayman on March 7, 1939 in Cincinnati, OH. She graduated from Woodward High School in Cincinnati in 1957.
She moved to Miami in the early 1960’s and worked for the North Miami Beach Police Department in the records division as well as working in the office for an insurance company and a retail department store.
Arlene moved to Hollywood, FL where she met the late Frank Amoretti and they married in 1998, before relocating to Barefoot Bay, FL in 2004 where they spent their retirement years. They loved to go dancing and checking out Doo Wop bands when they came to town.
Arlene enjoyed playing Mahjong and Bingo and also traveling including a visit to Israel and Paris, France and loved to go on cruises with Frankie. She also loved to go shopping and couldn’t pass up the jewelry counter at her favorite stores.
Arlene is survived by her children, Scott Kurtz and Bradley Kurtz (and wife Laurie); three grandchildren, Jillian Kurtz, Jack Kurtz and Joshua Kurtz, her brother Irv Klayman (and wife Suzette), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial Minyan service will be held virtually via Zoom from Temple Beth Sholom in Melbourne, FL at a later date.
