Miss Hibiscus 2022 Pageant

(Vero Beach, FL January 1, 2022)Main Street Vero Beach is looking for Miss Hibiscus 2022.  She is a poised and confident 15–19-year-old resident of Indian River County, engaged in her community and setting an example for women of all ages. The Miss Hibiscus Pageant is one of the featured events at Main Street Vero Beach’s Hibiscus Festival.  The crowning of Miss Hibiscus will take place on Thursday February 3rd, 2022, at the Heritage Center in historic Downtown Vero Beach.  Contestants may enter until January 26th, 2022. Competition consists of a pre-pageant interview and the young women are awarded points for public speaking, involvement in activities, social impact statements, and community service.  

The winner of the Miss Hibiscus Pageant receives an $850 Scholarship and prizes donated by local businesses. During the year of her reign, she is a goodwill ambassador for Main Street Vero Beach.  This year’s Miss Hibiscus will be given the opportunity to compete in the 2022 Miss Florida Pageant if she meets the qualifications and chooses to do so. 

Second place winner will earn $350 scholarship plus prizes and third place wins a $250 scholarship and prizes.   The honors of “Miss Congeniality” and “Miss Photogenic” are also awarded scholarships and prizes the night of the pageant. Main Street Vero Beach is currently looking for corporate and individual sponsors to fund the scholarships.  All sponsors will be recognized in future media releases, pageant promotion and honored the night of the event.  For information on entering or sponsoring the Miss Hibiscus Pageant, contact Susan Gromis-Executive Director at MSVB. 

The Hibiscus Festival originated in the 1950’s and was revived in 2004.  The 2022 festival is the seventeenth time Main Street Vero Beach has presented the celebration. The two-day art and music event will be the last weekend in March; Saturday March 26th and Sunday March 27th. Profits from The Hibiscus Festival are invested in beautification and economic restructuring projects.
