Any ‘witch’ way you slice it, Halloween Car Parade was a hit

A slight hint of fall and clear skies were the perfect conditions for the City of Vero Beach Recreation Department’s second annual Halloween Car Parade. Getting into the spirit of the day, adults, children and pets were costumed in a variety of creative ways, carrying their themes over into their cars, trucks and even antique automobiles. Participants gathered in the parking lot across from Riverside Theatre, before heading east along Beachland Boulevard to Sexton Plaza, where goody bags were handed out to all the youngsters and prizes were given for best decorated vehicles.

“These are our two oldest crew members,” said Fire Medic Alex Ayerdis with a smile, referencing the skeletons on the grill of a fire truck from Fire Rescue Station 2, as they got ready to lead off the parade.
