GIFFORD — A man was seriously hurt after he was struck by a vehicle late Monday, fire rescue crews said.
The crash happened about 6:30 p.m. near U.S. 1 and 45th Street, officials said. The man was taken by ambulance to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce with serious injuries, Indian River County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Kyle Kofke said.
No other injuries were reported. The make and model of the vehicle involved was not available.
Florida Highway Patrol was investigating the cause of the crash.
