October 27, 2021 (Vero Beach, Florida) – Thanks to collaborative efforts from regional partners with BISSELL Pet Foundation, nearly 300 pets were evacuated from egregious conditions in a large-scale animal cruelty case in West Helena, AR.
After the closure of the facility, BISSELL Pet Foundation along with Animal Rescue Corps, Cabot Animal Services, Humane Society of Tulsa, Nashville Humane Society and more safely executed the evacuation and care of the pets including emergency efforts, health testing, microchipping and other necessary efforts for the welfare of the pets.
Humane Society of Vero Beach (HSVB) is part of the relief efforts and is taking in 15 dogs through ground transport on Wednesday, October 27th, 2021. Our shelter will provide medical care, one on one attention, rehabilitation, and a fourteen-day quarantining so that they will be ready for adoption.
“These voiceless victims need to be cared for, and our shelter is grateful to be able to provide assistance to these pets in need,” said Kate Meghji, Chief Executive Officer at HSVB. “We will do everything in our power to give these dogs all the love and care that they deserve and find them loving families.”
