GIFFORD, Fla. – Monday, October 11, 2021 – For the first time since 2019, the Gifford Youth Achievement Center (GYAC) will be hosting an open house on Tuesday, November 16 at 4:00 p.m. The Center’s open house will give guests a glimpse of GYAC’s mission in motion: to create, with God’s guidance, educational, cultural and social opportunities that enhance the lives of the youth and families we serve.
All are invited to witness the GYAC’s students in action and explore the Center’s Cis and Bill Glavin Educational Center, which houses students in 4th – 12th grades during GYAC’s Afterschool Program. The new educational center was built to accommodate more than 50 students who were waitlisted year after year due to a lack of space. With an additional 14,000 square feet and eight new classrooms, GYAC currently serves more than 200 students year-round with a capacity to serve up to 325 students.
Learn what makes GYAC more than an afterschool program, enroll your child and see for yourselves why your neighbors support GYAC’s mission.
Attendees will be treated to light refreshments, so an RSVP is kindly requested. For more information or to RSVP, please call 772.794.1005 or visit www.gyac.net.
About GYAC
Gifford Youth Achievement Center, a 501(c)(3), opened its doors in 1998 with the sole purpose of enhancing the academic performance of children in Indian River County. The nonprofit organization, governed by a volunteer board of directors, focuses on vulnerable students who live in the Gifford community and surrounding municipalities of Indian River County. In addition to year-round educational programs and activities for youth, GYAC provides activities for adults and seniors citizens, such as exercise classes, bible study, and computer and educational training. The Center also hosts job fairs, health clinics, community gatherings and serves as an information hub for those in need of services.
