October 9, 1933 – September 29, 2021

Rose Masters, age 87, of Margate, Florida, died Wednesday, September 29, 2021.

Born October 9, 1933, in Inwood, New York, Rose was the daughter of the late Joseph Artusa & Carmella Zoccoli Artusa.

She belonged to the Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church and was employed by St. John’s Episcopal Hospital.

Her pastimes included reading and spending her time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Selig Masters; and beloved son, David Masters.

She is survived by three children, a daughter, Patricia Stuart; two sons, Richard Masters & wife Barbara, and Steven Masters; Six grandchildren, Melissa Sciremammano (Frank), Jennifer Stuart, Nicole Navarrete, Jacqueline Lathen (Michael) , Ryan Masters (Ashley), and Mary Kate Gillis; six great-grandchildren, Giana, Justine, Jackson, Luca, Adalyn and Emilia; and many other loving family & friends.

Committal services will be Monday, October 4, 2021, 12:30 p.m. in Crestlawn Cemetery.

Elizabeth Thomas Smith, 75, Vero Beach

September 28, 1946 – September 29, 2021

Elizabeth Thomas Smith passed away peacefully in her sleep on her 75th birthday on September 28, 2021 in Vero Beach, FL.

Elizabeth was born in Newburgh, NY and grew up in Monroe, NY.  She graduated from Wheaton College in 1968 in Norton, MA and lived in New York City for 28 years, working as a corporate investment advisor to several major financial institutions.  She continued her career in Charlotte, NC and retired from Wilmington Trust, living in Vero Beach for the past several years.

She is predeceased by her parents, Robert Warren Smith and Edith Thomas Smith and her brother-in-law, Phillip Yonge.  She is survived by her sisters, Nancy Fink (Robert) of Goshen, NY, Susan Schuyler Smith of Vero Beach and brother Robert Warren Smith, Jr. of Goshen, NY.   Elizabeth is also survived by her nephews, Nicholas Warren Childs (Laura) of Portland, OR, Christopher Thomas Childs (Helane) of Cohasset, MA and beloved great niece and nephew Sydney Elizabeth Childs and Samuel Warren Childs, also of Cohasset.

Elizabeth was a member of Quail Valley River Club and enjoyed traveling internationally, especially to France and Italy.  She will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family and friends, her wry sense of humor, her outstanding shopping abilities and her impeccable sense of style.

Arrangements are being handled by Strunk Funeral Home.  A Celebration of her Life will be held at a future date.

Jane Ann (Freels) Young, 73, Sebastian

November 3, 1947 – September 26, 2021

Jane Ann (Freels) Young, 73, of Sebastian, Florida passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, surrounded by her immediate family.

Jane Ann was born in Evansville, Indiana to the late Ralph and Rebecca Ann (Lynn) Freels.  She moved from Indiana to Sebastian in 1983.  Jane was a Christian, and of the Baptist faith.

Jane received her Bachelor and Master of Education degrees from Indiana State University.

Credentialed in all aspects of special education, she taught in public schools for the Evansville-Vanderburgh and Lake County school systems in Indiana; Indian River County, FL (Fellsmere, Pelican Island, and Sebastian Elementary schools) and Brevard County, FL (Columbia Elementary).  Jane also directed education and vocational programs for both Rivendell and CPC mental health hospitals in Vero Beach and in Palm Bay, Florida, respectively.

Survivors include husband Steve Young of Sebastian (formerly Wabasso), sister Nancy Jo Freels Datzman and husband Scott of Evansville, Indiana.  Jane Ann was predeceased by sister Rebecca Lynn Freels.

Jane supported many charitable organizations.  She had a special interest in those dedicated to children’s education, social & veterans’ services, and wildlife/pets/environmental causes.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Wabasso School (8895 US-1, Wabasso, FL 32970); The Arc of Indian River County Inc. (1375 16th Ave, Vero Beach, FL 32960), For the Love of Paws Pet Food Pantry (12198 Co Rd 512, Fellsmere, FL 32948), or Special Olympics Florida for Brevard County, 1915 Don Wickham Drive, Clermont, FL 34711, or your favorite organization of a similar nature.

A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at 1:30 P.M. on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the South Mainland Community Center, 3700 Allen Avenue, Micco, FL 32976.

Elder Robert Woods, 83

August 12, 1938 – October 03, 2021

Elder Robert Woods was born on August 12, 1938, in Vidalia, Toombs County, Georgia, to the late Isaac J. Woods and the late annie Lou Hodges Woods Murray.

He received his basic education in Toombs County Public School.  He met and married Carolyn Diane McConico on February 23, 1979.

Elder woods worked in the citrus busiiness and construction business before going into business for himself.  He enjoyed working with this hands.  the Lord blessed him with a lawn maintenance business for over 45 years.

He was proceeded in death by his son, Robert Woods, Jr., and granddaughter Alteria Woods.

Elder Woods was a family man and loved his family and Church family.

He leaves to cherish his memories: A loving and devoted wife, Carolyn Diane Woods of Vero Beach, FL; four sons, Theawander Woods (Felicia) of Savannah, Georgia, Alton S. Woods (Yalonda) of Vero Beach, FL, Robert Colely Woods, Jr of Vero Beach, FL, Larry Hill of Vidalia, GA; sister, Inez (Bonnie) Harbour of Dayton, Ohio; brother Arlester (Minan) Woods of Vanceboro, NC; grandsons, Alton S. Woods, Jr, Robert Colely Woods III; granddaughters, Alexus L. Woods and Alexis P. Woods.  He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Godchildren, relatives, COGIC #1, Inc family and friends. A special friend to the family, Texaner Foster.

Graveside Service and Interment:  1:00 PM, Friday, October 8, 2021 at Gifford Cemetery
