Pelican Island Conservation Society (PICS) announces the annual Indian River Bird and Nature Art Show will be held in partnership with Environmental Learning Center this year and be on for the whole month of October.
Art will be taken in on Friday October 1st (with applications due by September 24th). Plein Aire artists will be invited to paint at ELC or at the National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday October 2nd. On Sunday, the judges, Warren Obluck and Dan Kroeger, will do their thing…both come with serious art exhibit credentials.
Saturday October 16th is the Artists Reception and Awards from 4:30-6:30. Plan to come by to see who wins in 3Dimensional, 2Dimensional, Watercolor, Acrylic, Oil, Plein Aire, Photography and BEST IN SHOW! This year we will have a PEOPLE’s CHOICE named at the end of the month.
Plan a day to come by to see the show…It will be open on normal ELC days. All art is for sale with 30% going to Pelican Island Conservation Society.
Watch for the annual “Sunset Cruise” times on the https://www.facebook.com/PICSIndianRiverBirdNatureArtShow page. We are planning to have multiple cruises with wine and cheese and a bird tour leader all from the ELC dock. Cost is $60 per person. Other birding tours are also planned.
