In Memory: Aug. 4

From Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory

James Edward Sanderson, 74

September 20, 1946 – August 03, 2021

Our community sadly lost a generous and devoted servant of Christ on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021 when Mr. James E. Sanderson passed away at Indian River Cleveland Clinic.  His contributions to the lives of many include the aid in execution of over 25 Walk to Emmaus’s, numerous children’s moments at local fellowships and the officiating of countless weddings and celebrations of life.

Jim was born in Orwell, New York on September 20th 1946.  He worked diligently as a Health & Physical Education teacher for decades; touching the lives of many students as a strong male figure.  Jim was a loving husband and father who conscientiously provided and served his home and church family.  He was predeceased by his siblings Betty Ann Sanderson, Judy Sanderson and Frank Sanderson.  Jim is survived by his wife Mary Sanderson, son Thomas Sanderson and daughters Dawn and Libby Sanderson.  He is also survived by brother Larry Sanderson (Bonnie) and Sister Cindy Love (Dave).

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to Youth for Christ of Indian River County or Dunklin Memorial Church in Okeechobee FL.

Jim’s servanthood, generosity and charisma served as a model for all those he encountered.  He was passionate about sharing the love of Christ and was committed to social involvement.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, August 7th 2021 at Genesis Church.
