Virginia D. Martucci Colonna, 78, Fort Pierce

September 15, 1942 – July 23, 2021

Virginia D. Martucci Colonna, 78, went home to her Lord & Savior July 23, 2021, in her home with family by her side.

Virginia was born September 15, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Fort Pierce, Florida with her family in 1985.

She retired after working for 20 years at Harbour Federal Bank in Fort Pierce, FL.

Virginia was a kind and generous person who had a servant’s heart.  She enjoyed helping people and cooking for others.  She always put those around her before herself.  She was known for her loving hospitality.  She frequently opened up her home to family and friends for special gatherings, Bible studies, and holidays.  She regularly prepared and delivered meals to anyone she heard was in need of a home cooked meal.  Her cooking and baking was a favorite to most who ate anything she made.  If Virginia knew it was your birthday, she would bake you a cake.

Virginias’s generosity went beyond the donations of money she gave to the many different organizations she held dear in her heart.  She also gave of her time.  She volunteered for 18 years, a couple times a week, for Care Net Pregnancy Services of Port St. Lucie, FL.  Her desire to help the unborn babies and their families was a strong passion of hers. She was a long time blood donor giving gallons of her blood for as long as her fragile body allowed her to do so. She volunteered weekly at her church in the nursery, and greeted those who entered with her caring smile.

Virginia will be loved and greatly missed by her husband Louis J. Colonna Jr. of 58 years, her four children Michael (Jennifer) Colonna, David (Audrey) Colonna, Daniel (Rhonda Walsingham) Colonna, Christy (Scott) Gallo.

Her eleven grandchildren Hannah (Brian) Guanch, Nigel Colonna, Nathan Colonna, Eden Colonna (Keaton) Mank, Nicholas Gallo, Illiana Walsingham, Jacob Gallo, Patrick Colonna, Olivia Colonna, Jenna Gallo, and Marie Gallo. Her three great grandchildren Naomi Guanch, Norah Guanch, and Ellie Guanch. Her brother Dale (Pamela) Martucci, her sister-in-law Sharyn (James) Schneider, her sister-in-law Diane Martucci and her nieces and nephews.

Virginia was predeceased by her father Lawrence E. Martucci, mother Jane Robey Martucci, and brother Lawrence Martucci.

A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held Wednesday August 4, 2021 at Calvary Chapel Vero Beach.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 and service at 11:00.

The service will be streamed live at https://live.ccvb.net

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice in Virginia Colonna’s name.
