Margaret M. King, 85, Vero Beach

February 05, 1936 – July 16, 2021

Margaret M. King, 85, of Vero Beach passed away Friday, July 16, 2021, at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital.

She was born in Vero Beach on February 5, 1936, to parents, Floyd and Amanda Marie Jones McCall.

Margaret began working for Wodtke’s Department Store in the 11th grade for the next 9 years prior to her owning & operating King Family Home Daycare for 55 years.

A devoted member of King’s Baptist Church, Mrs. King served as Sunday School Teacher, teaching Vacation Bible School and singing in the choir.

She is survived by her children, John King (Angela), Teresa Kimbrough (Robert) and Laura Wood (Gary); grandchildren, Amanda Yancey (Isaac), Marie Wood (Rex), Gary Wood, Jr. (Kayla), Tabbatha Mature (Kenny), Raymond Kimbrough (Cathy), Amanda Sangster (Jonathan); and great-grandchildren, Alexis Evans, Andrew Evans, Christopher Hawkins, Rheanna Kimbrough, Cody Kimbrough, Rachelle Kimbrough, Thomas Sangster and Parker Sangster.

Mrs. King was predeceased by her husband, William H. King on December 6, 1982, and her 3 brothers, Samuel McCall, Warren McCall, and John McCall.

The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, July 23, 2021, at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021 at a time to be determined, at King’s Baptist Church with inurnment to follow at Winter Beach Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margaret’s name to a charity of one’s choice.

Billy M. Moody, Sr., 84, Vero Beach

February 23, 1937 – July 18, 2021

Billy M. Moody, Sr., age 84, of Vero Beach, died July 18, 2021.

He was owner-operator of Bill’s Gulf Service in Vero Beach for 25 years and worked over 20 years with Golden River Fruit Co. After retirement, he and his wife spent summers in Blowing Rock, NC, his hometown.

Bill had attended Nashville Auto-Diesel College in Nashville, Tenn.

He was a devoted member of King’s Baptist Church.

Bill was also a member of Vero Beach Masonic Lodge No. 250.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Rachel Hampton Moody; daughter, Beverly Moody Keehner (Bill); son, Billy M. Moody, Jr. (Alison) and A. Charles Moody (Adrianne), all of Vero Beach; six grandsons, Boone Redmond, Will Keehner (Anna), Wesley Moody, Chas Moody, Travis Moody (Minhee), and Ricky Topliff; two granddaughters, Joy Griffin (Justin) and Abby Moody; three great-grandchildren, Josie Campbell, Tucker Campbell, and Merle Redmond; and sister, Linda Harm (Dr. Rod).

Bill was predeceased by his daughter, Rebekah LaVaughn Moody and his sister, Virginia Boyette.

The family will greet friends 5-7 p.m., Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, July 23, 2021, at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home.
