Zelda Pearl Davis, 93, Vero Beach
June 29, 1928 – July 02, 2021
Zelda Pearl Davis, age 93, of Vero Beach, passed away Friday, July 2, 2021, at VNA Hospice House.
She was born June 29, 1928, in Harper, West Virginia.
Zelda attended Beckley College, in West Virginia.
Locally, Mrs. Davis retired from the Carpenters Union Hall, working as a bookkeeper for many years and later as a seamstress with Bealls Dept. store, both of Vero Beach.
She was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church, Vero Beach, serving in the nursery for many years. Recently she attended Calvary Chapel Vero Beach.
Mrs. Davis enjoyed sewing and made numerous outfits for her family over the years. She also liked to read, listening to music, and keeping up with the events of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. You could always count on her being beside the radio every Friday night, listening to the Vero Beach Fighting Indians football games.
Zelda was a loving and devoted Mother, Memaw, E-Maw, and Friend.
She is survived by her three daughters, Dee D. Soop of Ft. Pierce, FL, Teresa (Jon) Goff and Melissa (Randy) Peters both of Vero Beach; brother, W.C. McCutcheon of Dunedin, FL; daughter-in-law, Sandra J. Davis of Vero Beach; eight grandchildren, Kevin Davis, Christopher Davis, Holly Wood, Nicole Peters, Ashley Callahan, Jeremy Goff, Tyler Peters, and Taylor Peters all of Vero Beach; and eight great-grandchildren, Rhett, Brynn, Kaden, Kannon, Harmoney, Josiah, Avery, and Ellie, with baby boy, Asher, on the way.
Mrs. Davis was predeceased by her son, Rodney B. Davis, mother & father, Van & Mamie McCutcheon, and brothers, Thomas McCutcheon, Lonzo McCutcheon and Shirley McCutcheon.
A Memorial Service is planned at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach, and will be announced when the date is determined.

Brant Cory Raper, age 23, of Vero Beach, passed away July 6, 2021, at Boynton Beach, FL.
He was born in Atlanta, GA and had moved from Cumming, GA to Vero Beach.
Brant was a member of Creekside United Methodist Church, of Cumming.
He had attended Georgia State University.
Survivors include his mother, Lori; father, Brian; stepfather, Ashley, stepbrothers, Matthew, Logan, and Sean; stepsister, Sarah; and grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
The family will greet friends from 12:30 – 1 p.m., Monday, July 12, 2021, with a Memorial Service to follow at 1 p.m., at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, 1655 27th St., Vero Beach.

Gena Lynn Harriman, 56, Vero Beach
October 9, 1964 – July 8, 2021
Gena Lynn Harriman, 56, of Vero Beach passed on Thursday July 8, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 9, 1964, in Savanah Georgia to William H. Harriman and Bessie E. Dam Harriman.
Gena is a 1982 graduate of Merrillville High School, she then went onto a two year program in Vincennes, Indiana before earning her Masters of Education from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. She had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed any activity that afforded her the opportunity to be in nature, whether it be in the mountains or out on the ocean.
She relocated to the Treasure Coast area in 2002 and continued her nearly 30 years teaching career in the Fort Pierce School District until her retirement in 2017.
In addition to her parents, Gena is survived by her brothers, Bill Harriman (Patricia) of Farmington Hills, Michigian and Jeff Harriman (Sheree) of Louisville, Kentucky; nephew, Will R. Harriman (Wendy Woods); nieces; Mary Thew (Nathan), Danielle Egolf (Michael), Angela Feeney (Zachary), along with a host of friends and colleagues who will miss her dearly.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Gena’s honor to the charity of one’s choice.
Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Strunk Funeral Home & Crematory in Vero Beach.

Helena Bernice McCormick, 75, Sebastian
March 08, 1946 – July 01, 2021
Helena Bernice McCormick, 75 of Sebastian passed away on July 1st. She was born to the late Edward and Sabina Konazewski. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Richard, two sons Philip and John, three grandchildren Christie, Christian and Jordan and three great grandchildren Addison, Bailey and Roman.
Helena received a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in New York. After moving to Florida in 1970 she became a Registered Nurse. She later became a Nurse Practitioner and worked her was up to Clinical Director of Nurses at Florida Medical Center.
In her spare time, Helena enjoyed macramé, sewing, raising rabbits and fishing but especially loved Disney World and would visit often.

Charles Douglas “Doug” Folks
Charles Douglas Folks was born on February 5th, 1959. Doug passed away on July 4th, 2021 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Debbie Folks, son Jesse Folks, daughter Jennifer Moeller, grandchildren Mya and Brayden Moeller, parents Tom and Dot Folks, sisters Lynne Lewin and Terri Alba, and many more family and friends.
Doug was an avid fan of the Washington Nationals, Redskins, and Nascar. He enjoyed country music, old and new, and rock and roll. He loved going back to Southern Maryland every fall to see friends and have his favorite oysters and crabs.
A private interment will be held in the fall in his most loved Monterey, VA.
