Put on your red, white & blue and get ready to wave the flag when the Space Coast Symphony Wind Orchestra free patriotic concert returns with Let Freedom Ring!
The concert will be performed at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 26 at the Emerson Center, 1590 27th Avenue in Vero Beach, 32960 and 7:00 PM at the Scott Center at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, 5625 Holy Trinity Drive Melbourne, FL 32940.
Let Freedom Ring will showcase American heritage as conductor and artistic director Aaron T. Collins directs the wind orchestra with Victory at Sea by Richard Rodgers, “God Bless the USA” by Lee Greenwood, “American Salute” by Gould and plentiful marches from The March King, John Philip Sousa. Among the many rousing patriotic numbers will be a salute to those who served in the United States Armed Forces; veterans will be asked to stand when their service song is played. Special guest, Aaron Odom, tenor, will join the orchestra to sing on several selections. Let Freedom Ring will also pay tribute to the late Marion Scott, a Central Florida musical icon and conductor, with a performance of his favorite work, Wagner’s “Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral.” The full program will also feature the World Premiere of Vero Beach composer R. Michael Daugherty’s Semper Fi, a work dedicated to the United States Marine Corps.
Audience members are invited to wear red, white and blue in a show of patriotic solidarity. For capacity planning, tickets are required for the free concert and can be reserved online at the link below or by calling (855) 252-7276.
Artistic Director and Conductor, Aaron T. Collins, considers it an honor to salute the USA and our veterans.
“We owe everything to the men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform,” said Collins. “These concerts are a powerful way to come together as a community and celebrate our great nation.”
