The Vero Beach Museum of Art is pleased to present its in-person summer film series “Yes, We Cannes” with Vero Beach filmmaker Xaque Gruber in connection with the exhibition A Tribute to Christo and Jeanne-Claude: The Tom Golden Collection.
A selection of three internationally acclaimed feature-length films and three film shorts will touch on key themes of the exhibition: perseverance and the struggle to find one’s place in the world. Guest speaker and filmmaker Xaque Gruber will provide introductory remarks on the cinematic importance of each film and share his personal connections to and experience at the Cannes Film Festival.

Xaque Gruber Biography
Xaque Gruber began his career teaching art at the K-5 grade level in Concord, MA. He has a BFA in Drawing from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, and a MA in art education from Tufts University/School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. He began a second career in TV and film writing with a MA in Television Production from Boston University’s College of Communication. He has worked as the personal assistant to award-winning actress, Sally Kirkland, and set assistant for Hollywood Squares. Xaque has many writing credits to his name, including the 2006 CBS special “Dynasty Reunion: Catfights & Caviar.” In 2016, Xaque began working as a reporter and teaching art in Florida. Currently, he is actively developing film and television projects with producers in Los Angeles and Europe.
