No injuries after shots fired at Palms at Vero Beach complex

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — No injuries were reported after multiple shots were fired into an occupied unit Wednesday at Palms at Vero Beach complex, deputies said.

“This is an isolated incident and there is no known danger to the general public,” Indian River County sheriff’s officials said in a statement. The motive for the shooting was unknown.

The shooting happened about 5 p.m. at the complex in the 1200 block of 4th Terrace, west of Indian River Boulevard, sheriff’s officials said. Deputies said the bullets pierced the closed front door, a kitchen wall, cupboard and a window.

Deputies were working to collect information on the possible suspect. It was unclear if anyone was in custody late Wednesday.

No further details were immediately available.
