Robert C. Stevens, 84, Vero Beach

August 26, 1936 – May 30, 2021

Robert C. Stevens succumbed to cancer on May 30, 2021 at the age of 84. Born in Racine, WI, Bob and his wife Marilyn lived in Vero Beach for 40 years. Bob is survived by his wife and sons, Thomas (Lisa) of Davie, FL and Craig (Cindy) of Fresno, CA and grandchildren, Katie, Kyle and Alexandra.

Bob was fortunate in that he made a career out of something he loved since he was 4 years old, golf. He was head professional at Shorewood CC, Racine CC, and Ft. Lauderdale CC. When he moved to Vero Beach, he and Marilyn founded Golf Roundup in 1981, where he worked until his retirement in 1999. He was a Life Member of the PGA and a member of the Golf Collector’s Society.

In addition to golf, Bob loved gardening. He took great pride in manicuring his lawn in his spare time.

The family will receive friends 10-11 AM Friday, June 4, 2021 at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a prayer service celebrating his life beginning at 11 AM at the funeral Home.

Robert “Bobby” Luther Barnes, 58, Fellsmere

September 01, 1962 – May 28, 2021

Robert “Bobby” Luther Barnes, 58, of Fellsmere, passed away, May 28, 2021.

Born September 1, 1962 at Vero Beach, Bobby was a son of the late James F. Barnes, Sr. & Matilda McEachron Barnes.

Reared and educated in Indian River County, Bobby went to Fellsmere & Vero Beach schools and He attended Fellsmere Community Bible Church.

He was a truck driver by trade which was fitting as he loved to travel the open road. He enjoyed anything outdoors especially airboats and operating & tinkering with heavy equipment.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife Debra Franklin Barnes on November 17, 1985; and a brother, Lloyd Barnes.

He is survived by his children, Elizabeth Barnes, Tyler Barnes & Sierra Barnes; a brother, James F. Barnes, Jr. and wife Brenda; former wife and mother of Tyler & Sierra, Debra Benson Barnes; six grandchildren, Justin, Sarah, Natalie, Jazlynn, Tyler Lane & Jayden; and many other loving family & friends.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at at Strunk Funeral Home, 1623 North Central Avenue, Sebastian, Florida. Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Fellsmere Brookside Historic Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Bobby’s life at Tyler’s residence following interment, all are welcome to attend.

Eileen J. Kelly, 94, Barefoot Bay

March 23, 1927 – May 31, 2021

Mrs. Eileen J. Kelly, 94, died May 31 Sebastian, FL. Born March 23, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY, she lived in Columbus, OH from 1971 until moving to Barefoot Bay in 2004.

The beloved youngest of four children Eileen was an amazing, loving and supportive mother, an avid tennis player and bridge master. Perhaps best known for her quick wit, story telling and clean jokes.

Predeceased by loving husband of 66 years Edward J. Kelly.

Survivors include sister Winifred Keahon, Jacksonville; daughter Kathy (Jim) Gill, Columbus, OH; sons Tom (Mary) Kelly, Bedford, TX; Bill, Barefoot Bay; Edward Jr., NJ; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Catholic Church, 5055 Micco Road, Micco, FL 32976.

A Memorial Mass 11 a.m. Weds., June 2, St. Luke Catholic Church, Barefoot Bay.

A Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Sat., June 5, St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Road, Columbus, OH 43220.

Elizabeth “Betsy” Christopher Hutchinson, 90, Sebastian

November 08, 1930 – May 17, 2021

Elizabeth “Betsy” Christopher Hutchinson, 90, of Sebastian Florida, formerly of Auburn, New York and Longview, Texas passed away on May 17, 2021. She was born in Syracuse, New York to the late James and Mary (Cecora) Christopher. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband James Dana Hutchinson, Jr. in 2014.

Betsy began her working career as a telephone operator for the Bell Telephone Company. She later won lifetime Chamber of Commerce membership awards in Longview Texas for her work in radio advertising sales. Betsy also worked in several retail sales positions and was a former volunteer at the Sebastian River Medical Center. She enjoyed the beach, reading and garage sales, but mostly enjoyed the time she spent with her family. Surviving are her children A. Thomas (Mary Ann) Giannone, Nancy Giannone, David (Mellissa Linnhoff) Giannone, Christopher Giannone and Aimee (Stephen Fernandez) Giannone; stepsons James (Jenny) Hutchinson, Dale (Marge) Hutchinson and David (Diane) Hutchinson;
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Seawinds Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, DC.
