Tyler Albert Worden, of the 4100 block of 16th Street, Vero Beach, was charged with battery. Worden was released Monday from the Indian River County Jail on $500 bond.

Indian River County deputies responded to reports of a disturbance about 4 p.m. Sunday at a home on 44th Avenue. The home belongs to Worden’s daughter, reports show.

The woman said Worden came to her residence earlier to drop off a pizza.

When Worden arrived, the woman told Worden that she wasn’t feeling well. When the woman asked Worden to leave, Worden became upset, reports show.

Worden refused to go and the two began to argue. Worden then stepped outside of the threshold of the front door.

When the woman tried to close the door, Worden turned around and threw a slice of pizza at her face, reports show. Worden told deputies he thought the door was closed when he threw the slice.

Deputies said Worden had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath.

Deputies arrested Worden and booked him into the county jail. Worden was ordered to not have any contact with the woman, court records show.

Worden has an arraignment at 8:30 a.m. June 15, court records show.
