VERO BEACH — A man wanted out of Oklahoma on a variety of charges – including lewd molestation – since 2019 was detained Friday, deputies said.
Deputies arrested Pau Than Tuang, 27, of the 2000 block of 17th Street, Vero Beach, on charges of resisting arrest without violence, driving with an expired license more than 6 months and fugitive from justice. Tuang was held Saturday at the Indian River County Jail without bond.
Tuang was wanted out of Tulsa County for forcible sodomy and four counts of lewd molestation, Indian River County deputies said. Further details on what led to the charges were not available.
Deputies said they got a tip Friday from the U.S. Marshals Service that Tuang was living in Indian River County.
Deputies conducted several hours of surveillance before tracking a vehicle Tuang was seen driving. Details on the vehicle’s make and model were not available.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop about 4 p.m. on the vehicle in the 3000 block of 20th Street. Deputies arrested Tuang and booked him in to the county jail.
It was unclear when Tuang would be extradited back to Oklahoma.
