VERO BEACH, FL- (March 25, 2021) – The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVB) is happy to announce that the dogs they recently rescued from Texas will be made available for adoption this week.
HSVB worked in tandem with the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League to rescue 70 dogs as a result of the recent severe winter storms in Texas. The dogs have all been evaluated and will have received any necessary medical care before they are made available for adoption. The 18 rescued dogs at HSVB are a variety of breeds, sizes and ages.
Although the rescue groups in Texas worked around-the-clock to make sure the animals were provided the best care, many of the Texas shelters are open air and did not have the infrastructure to deal with the winter storm and freezing temperatures.
Wings of Rescue flew in partnership with Tito’s Handmade Vodka and the spirits company’s Vodka for Dog People program who are long standing disaster relief partners of the organization.
