Hearts in right place at Women’s Refuge ‘Love 5K Run/Walk’

Love was in the air during the third annual Love 5K Run/Walk, where nearly 200 participants made their way through Riverside Park to support the Women’s Refuge of Vero Beach, a Christian residential program for women who need help with emotional, mental and spiritual healing.

“Perhaps they’ve had a difficult time in their life: some trauma, a difficult divorce, or loss of a loved one,” said Diane Ludwig, Women’s Refuge executive director. She added that they also offer community counseling for men, women and adolescents.

Daniel Davidson took first place overall with a time of 19.14, and Brittany Corr was right behind him as the top women’s finisher at 20:16. For more information, visit womensrefugevb.org.
