Mrs. Katherine Ann Billman, 85, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Cleveland Clinic – Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach.

Kay was born in Portsmouth, OH to Marion and Mary Porter Shuman. In 1977, she and her family moved to Vero Beach from Logansport, IN.

Although Kay spent the second half of her life in Florida, her most cherished memories, were the years spent in Logansport, where she and her husband Marc enjoyed an abundance of friends and family.

Kay was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach. She and Marc enjoyed entertaining friends and family in their home. Kay also enjoyed her time outdoors gardening. She was an avid reader and enjoyed a good gin martini!

Kay’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a wonderful and caring wife, mother and grandmother and adored her granddaughters. Kay’s personality and optimism was contagious and was to be admired. She put the needs of others above her own and treated anyone she encountered with respect.

She finished her career as an Administrative Assistant at Indian River Memorial Hospital, now Cleveland Clinic, retiring from the hospital after more than ten years of service.

Survivors include daughter Beth (Pete) Dombroski of Glastonbury, CT and her beloved granddaughters Sarah and Bridget Dombroski and Rebecca Billman.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Marc Billman, her son Todd, her parents Marion and Mary Shuman and her brother, Dick Shuman.

A mass will be celebrated at St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach, FL in the near future. Kay will then be reunited with her husband, Marc at Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport.

Private interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport, IN at a later date.
