Richard William Winter, 79, Vero Beach
November 19, 1941 – January 17, 2021
Richard William Winter, age 79, passed on 1/17/2021 at Hospice House in Vero Beach Florida after a prolonged battle with COPD. He was predeceased by mother MaryJean (Barwick) Hinze, father Roy Hinze, and brother Dennis Hinze. Born in Evanston Illinois, he graduated from Evanston Township High School. He enlisted in the US Air Force and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After his time of service, Richard moved to Washington DC, where he was employed by Ruebin H. Donnolly Co. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Washington DC. Richard volunteered and supported several charities to eliminate hunger in Vero Beach and Washington DC. He was also a supporter of various arts-related organizations in both areas. Survivors include his beloved sister Jody (JoAnn Hinze) Rice, brother in law Allen Rice, their children, nephew Jared Rice, nieces Katie Fuster and Alison Rice. Interment will be at Rock Hill Cemetery in Washington DC. Memorial contributions in Richard’s name, may be made to the VNA & Hospice Foundation 1110 35th Ln. Elizabeth L. Iverson, 76, Vero Beach
December 26, 1944 – January 14, 2021
Elizabeth L. Iverson, age 76 passed away on January 14th, 2021 in Vero Beach, FL. She was born in Atlanta, GA and attended Emory University before getting married and having children. She moved to Vero Beach in 1994. After an established career as a purchasing director, she retired in 2009. Before retiring, she mentored others in her field and was recognized for her knowledge and training achievements.
She was a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church where she made many lifelong friendships. In her sixties, she became a Guardian Ad Litem to give children in need a protective voice. She loved to travel. Her favorite city was Florence, Italy where she discovered Lemoncello.
For all those who knew her, Elizabeth was kind, generous, passionate, and brilliant. She faced challenges with tenacious resolve, and she was the embodiment of strength in her petite stature. To her family, she was a beautiful beacon of love.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Iverson; her children Shannon Corley, Robert Leonard and his wife April, Charles “Tate” Iverson; as well as her grandchildren Katlin Leonard, Braxton “Cody” Leonard, Shiloh Leonard, and Camden Leonard.
There will be a Celebration of Life 3 p.m., Friday, January 22, 2021 at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

Robert “Bob” Sheehan, 87, Sebastian
November 4, 1933 – January 13, 2021
Robert (“Bob”) W. Sheehan, a retired IBM exec- utive and long-time resident of the Mid-Hudson Valley in New York State, passed away to be with the Lord at the age of 87 of Alzheimer’s on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at RiverView Senior Assisted Living in Palm Bay, Florida.
Bob was born in Beacon, New York on November 4, 1933 to the late Ralph and Elizabeth “Betty” Sheehan. He graduated in 1950 from Saint Patrick’s High School in Newburgh, NY, where he played on the varsity basketball and baseball teams. Thereafter, he enrolled at Manhattan College but left school early to serve in the US Air Force, where he was stationed at the Landsberg Air Base, Germany. On May 28, 1955 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Beacon, NY he married his high school sweetheart Joan (Smith), who survives him in Sebastian, FL.
Bob worked in various fields and later joined IBM in 1964 where he had a successful career in the area of global procurement. Mr. Sheehan performed in numerous management capacities at IBM and was stationed at multiple plant locations in Dutchess County, NY as well as company facilities in Endicott, NY; Raleigh, North Carolina; Boca Raton, Florida and Tokyo, Japan.
Bob was a member of the prestigious IBM Quarter Century Club. After retiring from IBM, Bob went on to work for several different entities including the United States Census Bureau, where he was consistently recognized for his dedication to providing quality data about the Nation’ people and economy.
Bob was a devoted husband and father as well as an avid golfer. He was a spiritual man and dedicated Catholic who enjoyed spending time with his family and attending mass at Holy Cross parish in Vero Beach, FL. Mr. Sheehan was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Vero Beach Elks Club. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, Ralph E. Sheehan, Wappingers Falls, NY; four sons and a daughter (including their respective spouses) Robert Patrick (Maureen) of Sebastian, FL; Kevin Mark (Thomas Butts) of Delray Beach, FL; Timothy John (Kimberly) of White Plains, NY; Dianne Elizabeth Lancaster (Kenneth) of Raleigh, NC; and David William (Michelle) of Acworth, GA; as well as five grandchildren Kathryn, Kevin (and his wife Jamie), Stephanie, Eva and Daniel and multiple nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church located at 13075 US Highway 1, Sebastian, FL 32958 on February 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Another Memorial Mass may later be held in Beacon, NY at a TBD date. Both family and friends will be contacted in the future to advise about the eventual timing of those services.
