All campuses within the School District of Indian River County will close Monday for Tropical Storm Eta, which brought strong winds and scattered showers to the area Sunday.
There will be no virtual learning while schools are closed, officials said. School officials plan to reopen campuses Tuesday, if weather conditions are safe.

Indian River County pools and the shooting range will also close Monday, officials said. County government offices, however, will remain open.
Eta was traveling northwest at 14 mph over the Florida Straits, according to the 4 p.m. Sunday update from National Hurricane Center. Eta has 65 mph maximum sustained winds.
The storm was not expected to regain hurricane strength, meteorologists said.
Tropical storm-force winds will continue along the Treasure Coast through Monday afternoon, National Weather Service in Melbourne Meteorologist Jessie Smith said. The three-county area saw 20-to-30 mph sustained winds – with up to 50 mph gusts – along the shorelines Sunday.

A tropical storm warning issued for Indian River County remains in effect until further notice, weather officials said. A high-surf advisory remains in effect until Monday evening, and a flood watch will last until early Tuesday.
