2020 brought it’s fair share of challenges for everyone, and there was no exception for Dancing with Vero’s Stars. The cast of dancing pairs embarked on their journey in the fall of 2019, fundraising and dancing to prepare for the main event in May of 2020. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this favorite community event that benefits the Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition was postponed indefinitely. Healthy Start’s mission is to give every baby a healthy start in life, and they are able to achieve this through the incredible generosity of community giving through this very event. The 2020 stars have banded together, committed to an extra year of supporting this amazing organization, and are ready to take the stage in 2021.
Also coming in 2021 will be a new Star Dancer. The Dancing with Vero’s Stars committee is proud to announce their new 2021 Star Dancer, Stevon “Von” Harvey! Von joins Dancing with Vero’s Stars alongside his partner, Karren Walter. While Von is stepping in a year after his fellow Star Dancers, he is up for any challenge and is ready to win the Mirrorball Trophy. Hailing from Jamaica originally, Von came to Vero Beach in 2015 and never looked back. As a Dining Room Captain at Quail Valley Golf and River Club, he is beloved by staff and members alike. He joins DWVS as the only new star in 2021, and is ready to hit the ground running.
The Dancing with Vero’s Stars Planning Committee, alongside their partner, Riverside Theatre, have been working tirelessly on ensuring this event can be a success in 2021. Like all things, it may look different, but they are confident that our community will get to see these shining dancing pairs perform soon. More details on the event, the date, and more will be announced soon. To learn more about Von, support your favorite Star Dancer, or sponsor this event, please visit www.dancingwithverostars.com.
