One of the men, Paul D. Wilder, previously sold fentanyl and cannabis to a confidential informant during an undercover investigation last month at the residence. The home is not far from Church of Christ Vero Beach, 3306 20th Street, reports show.

In the recent drug bust, the other man, Kevin T. Haithcock, denied knowing about the narcotics.

“A lot of people come through this house,” Haithcock told police.

Police arrested Wilder, 50, of the 5200 block of 21st Street, Vero Beach, on charges of possession of fentanyl with intent to sell or deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a church, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Haithcock, 66, of the 2000 block of 30th Avenue, Vero Beach, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of oxycodone, possession of marijuana more than 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wilder was held Monday at the Indian River County Jail on $86,000 bond, while Haithcock was held on $18,000 bond.

Police were already monitoring Wilder after he sold drugs to a confidential informant on Oct. 21 from the home on 30th Avenue. Jail records show Wilder’s address on 21st Street, but his arrest report shows he was living on 30th Avenue.

Police searched the home and found two pieces of tin foil containing a brown substance that tested positive for fentanyl, reports show.

Officers also found a glass pipe used to smoke crack cocaine, along with three bags and a glass jar containing marijuana, authorities said. Police also saw a 30 mg oxycodone pill, a used syringe and a spoon with a melted pill, reports show.

Police took Wilder and Haithcock to the county jail. Both men have arraignments at 8:45 a.m. Dec. 4, court records show.
