Twelve Gifford Youth Achievement Center (GYAC) staff members were recently (re)certified in CPR, AED and basic first aid for adults, children and infants. The 90-minute class provides comprehensive training that builds confidence to respond should an emergency arise. Certifications through the American Safety and Health Institute are valid for two years.
“This certification is vital to ensuring a safe environment for those we serve,” stated Angelia Perry, GYAC Executive Director.
GYAC believes strongly in equipping both students and staff with the tools they need to succeed. For staff, CPR training is on the top of the list. Therefore, GYAC offers the class at no cost to staff and has for several years.
