Indian River County added 14 new positive COVID-19 cases Wednesday, along with four new deaths, according to the Florida Department of Health dashboard. This raises the total number of county cases to 2,780, including residents and non-residents, while the death count increased to 91.

Details on the new deaths were not immediately available.

Health officials said 46 out of the 91 deaths in Indian River County were at long term care facilities.

There have been 240 hospitalizations from COVID-19 in Indian River County, health officials said. The number of hospitalizations and county cases are both cumulative.

As of Tuesday, there were 10 people still hospitalized from COVID-19 in Indian River County, health officials said.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 1,329 were white, 343 were black, 318 were listed as other and 773 were listed as unknown, officials said.

There have been 29,884 total tests completed in Indian River County, with 2,763 residents testing positive and 27,108 testing negative, health officials said. There were 49 test results pending and 13 were determined inconclusive.

Statewide, the number of cases increased to 608,722. The number of deaths statewide, including Florida residents and non-residents, increased to 10,872.

Indian River County added 10 new positive COVID-19 cases Tuesday, along with seven new deaths, according to the Florida Department of Health dashboard. This raises the total number of county cases to 2,766, including residents and non-residents, while the death count increased to 87.

The new Indian River County deaths are:

  • An 87-year-old woman with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person. The woman’s case was counted July 16.
  • An 89-year-old woman with unknown travel history. The woman’s case was counted July 22.
  • A 70-year-old man with unknown travel history and unknown contact with an infected person. The man’s case was counted July 23.
  • A 76-year-old man with no travel history and unknown contact with an infected person. The man’s case was counted July 26.
  • A 75-year-old woman with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person. The woman’s case was counted Aug. 2.
  • A 91-year-old woman with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person. The woman’s case was counted Aug. 2.
  • An 85-year-old woman with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person. The woman’s case was counted Aug. 14.

Health officials said 43 out of the 87 deaths in Indian River County were at long term care facilities.

Indian River County added nine new positive COVID-19 cases Monday, along with one new death, according to the Florida Department of Health dashboard. This raises the total number of county cases to 2,756, including residents and non-residents, while the death count increased to 80.

The new Indian River County death is:

  • A 78-year-old man with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person. The man’s case was counted Aug. 2.

The new Indian River County death is:

  • A 58-year-old man with no travel history and no known contact with an infected person. The man’s case was counted July 2.

The six new Indian River County deaths are:

  • A 91-year-old woman with no travel history and unknown contact with an infected person. The woman’s case was counted July 22.
  • An 88-year-old woman with no travel history and unknown contact with an infected person. The woman’s case was counted July 26.
  • An 101-year-old woman with no travel history. The woman’s case was counted Aug. 1.
  • A 92-year-old woman with no travel history and unknown contact with an infected person. The woman’s case was counted Aug. 2.
  • An 89-year-old woman with unknown travel history and unknown contact with an infected person. The woman’s case was counted Aug. 5.
  • A 64-year-old woman with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person. The woman’s case was counted Aug. 14.

The three new Indian River County deaths are:

  • An 83-year-old man with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person. The man’s case was counted Aug. 6. 
  • An 87-year-old woman with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person. The woman’s case was counted Aug. 13.
  • An 86-year-old woman with unknown travel history. The woman’s case was counted Aug. 15.

Statewide, the number of cases increased to 588,602. The number of deaths statewide, including Florida residents and non-residents, increased to 10,184.
