Celeste E. Berner, 93, Sebastian

Celeste E. Berner (nee DiPierno), 93, of Sebastian, formerly of Jensen Beach, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, after a long illness, on Saturday, July 25, 2020. Celeste was born Dec. 17, 1926, in New York, N.Y.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Jack D. Berner (1993). With his military career they traveled the country and abroad.

Together they raised three children; a daughter Jacqueline Stastny of Jensen Beach, two sons Steve H. Berner Sr. and his wife Misty of Sebastian, FL, and Gary P. Berner who passed late last year, 2019. Also survived by two brothers Gerald DiPierno and his wife Lillian of Wappingers Falls, NY and George Deane of Riverdale, NY; a sister Colette Bordonaro and her husband Vic of Palm Coast, FL.

Loving grandmother to 18, great grandmother to 10, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Those who knew her best, loved her kind and giving heart, and her concern for her family and friends. She had a long, well lived life. Celeste will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Fla.

Funeral services for Celeste will be held at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home, 950 SE Monterey
Road, Stuart, on Friday, July 31, at 12:00 – Noon. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time of
services. Interment Fern Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Dementia and
Alzheimers Foundation @www.alzfnd.org will be appreciated.

Paulette (Nadile) Fachinger, 91, Vero Beach

Paulette (Nadile) Fachinger, 91, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2020, in Vero Beach. Born in Cambridge, Mass., on July 22, 1929, Paulette grew up in Meriden, Ct., and attended the University of Miami and University of Maine Farmington for undergraduate studies, and earned a master’s degree from Northeastern University. She taught in Meriden; with the Air Force dependent schools in Newfoundland, the Philippines and Turkey; and as a reading specialist in Saugus, Mass., after returning to the United States.

Retiring in 1994, Paulette moved to Sebastion, FL, with her late husband Wilhelm Fachinger.

An avid swimmer and a talented gardener, she also loved to travel and read, having a special fondness for Snoopy from the Peanuts comic strip.

Survivors include her sister, Sheila Porath of Daniel Island, SC, her nephew, Brett Porath of Carlsbad, CA, and her niece, Stacy Bruder of Daniel Island, SC.

Her family wishes to extend their sincere and heartfelt thanks to the many staff members of the Florida Baptist Retirement Home for their loving and gracious long term care.
