More deputies test positive for COVID-19

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Two more deputies have tested positive for coronavirus, sheriff’s officials said in a Twitter post Wednesday evening.

This raises the number of Indian River County deputies who tested positive for COVID-19 to five. Sheriff’s officials said three other deputies previously tested positive.

Anyone who tests positive is being instructed to self-quarantine at home for 14 days. It was unclear when the deputies received their positive results back.

Sheriff’s officials said the two additional deputies who tested positive were not involved in a recent training exercise at the sheriff’s office. Sheriff’s spokesman Maj. Eric Flowers was not immediately available for comment.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A few more details were released in a Sunday home invasion in the Highlands that left two women dead, including one who was pregnant. Deputies said the women - whose names weren't publicly released by the sheriff's office - lived at the residence. INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Details were few in an early Sunday morning home invasion in the Highlands that left at least one person dead in a case sheriff's officials described as "heinous." Deputies are asking anyone who might have information about the incident to contact the sheriff's office.
