Deputies arrested Thomas Edward Clauss, 41, of the 8300 block of 103rd Court, Vero Beach, on a charge of exposure of sexual organs. Clauss was released Sunday from the Indian River County Jail on $2,000 bond.

The incident, which lasted about 30 seconds, happened about 11:40 p.m. Saturday at the county jail. Clauss, who was already jailed on unrelated charges, began to yell while several corrections deputies escorted him to a cell, reports show.

While inside the cell alone, Clauss pressed his buttocks up against the glass, pulled his pants down and started “shaking his rump,” deputies said. Clauss grabbed his genitals and exposed himself to deputies, reports show.

Deputies noted other inmates were in the booking area and saw the incident.

Deputies arrested Clauss. Clauss has an arraignment at 8:30 a.m. June 23, court records show.
