VERO BEACH – Exchange Club of Indian River honored two Youth Guidance Mentoring Academy students ‒ Krystal Ezell and Alyssa Zuniga ‒ with its Accepting the Challenge of Excellence (ACE) Award. They were honored for their personal qualities and their achievements, particularly in the Exchange Pathfinders Excel Club of Vero Beach that is sponsored by Youth Guidance.
The ACE Award recognizes high school students who have had to overcome great physical, emotional, or social obstacles to succeed in school. Its purpose is to encourage them to graduate from high school and applauds and recognizes those students who are might otherwise be overlooked for their achievements. The students were introduced by Kim Prado, Excel Club sponsor and member of the Exchange Club of the Treasure Coast. Scott Wallace chairs the Exchange Club of Indian River ACE Awards. Youth guidance board member and mentor Jim Boggs also attended the presentation.
Exchange Club of Indian River is a group of men and women working together since 1973 to make our community a better place to live through programs of service in Americanism, Youth Activities, Community Service, and the Prevention of Child Abuse. It is affiliated with America’s service club, the National Exchange Club. Members meet for lunch at Culinary Capers each Wednesday at noon. Meetings feature programs on a wide range of business, government and civic, charity, personal, and professional topics.
