Everyone is invited to “make some waves” for the Youth Sailing Foundation. The cancellation of YSF’s sold-out annual gala due to the Coronavirus emergency was indeed disappointing. No need to abandon ship, however.
In fact, this presents an opportunity for even more of our supporters to share in the fun and the mutual benefits of what has become a virtual, but still very important, fundraising event.
Here are some ways to stay involved and support YSF from the comfort of your own home:
- Be among the first to view YSF’s new video presentation, intended to be debuted at Rock The Boat, but now available online. Get a glimpse of the impact YSF’s school squadron program is having on local youngsters.
- Take advantage of our online auction, which is running until Monday, March 30. All the items donated for sale in our popular silent and live auctions have been listed and are up for bid.
- Whether you’re interested in earrings or artwork, a round of golf or a spa treatment, a 2-hour cruise on the lagoon or a 7-day cruise on the Mississippi, dinner out or a Caribbean vacation, we hope you’ll take a look and raise your virtual paddle in support of YSF’s free children’s programs.
- Don’t miss the opportunity to name a boat in our special-needs fleet, sponsor a sailor, or sponsor an entire after school squadron. These options are all explained and available in the “Experience” section of the online auction.
Our sincere thanks go to our Rock The Boat co-chairs Susan Burton and Kiki Rohr, as well as our serendipitous emergency auction team of Heidi Wing, Robyn Flick, and Judy Peschio, along with the entire event planning committee, who nimbly came about and reset the course to keep the wind in our sails!
