Kenny Holmes has amassed quite the collection – more than 200 at last count – of Highwaymen paintings. The former VBHS defensive end, 2 time All American at UM and No. 18 pick of the 1997 NFL Draft recently contacted Michael Kissner, CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of the Treasure Coast, to express his gratitude for the outstanding and compassionate care that a close relative of his is receiving at the Encompass facility.
That gratitude came in the form of an offer to display more than 50 paintings from his Highwaymen collection at the facility for the patients, staff and visitors to enjoy in recognition of Black History month.
On the night of Feb. 13, Mr. Holmes brought the paintings to the facility where they now adorn the walls of the reception area, corridors and other non-patient areas as well as the day rooms. His collection will be on display through the end of the February – Black History month. The public is invited to visit the exhibit Monday through Friday 1 – 4 p.m. through the end of February.
Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital is located at 1600 37th St in Vero Beach. For more information, contact them at (772) 778-2100.
