The Sebastian City Council Wednesday night named its replacement for outgoing City Attorney Jim Stokes.
The Council, with a 3-2 vote, hired Manny Anon Jr., who was previously an assistant city attorney for the City of Port St. Lucie. Until recently, Stokes has split his time serving as the City Attorney for both cities.
Stokes gave the City of Sebastian notice last year that he would be leaving the post but ultimately stayed on until a new hire could be found.
Stokes has worked with Anon in the Port St. Lucie City Attorney’s Office. Stokes told the Council he will stay on for a few days to bring Anon up to speed.
Council members Damien Gilliams and Pamela Parris were the nay votes for Anon’s hire.
