VERO BEACH — A house in the 1000 block of 10th Place in Vero Beach is a total loss following a fire Thursday night.
Three adults are believed to be displaced following the fire. They were not home when the fire broke out.
According to Indian River County Fire Rescue Chief Tad Stone, at least seven units responded when the call came in at 8:59 p.m. By the time they arrived, the house was fully engulfed.
While crews battled the fire, a powerline fell on the west side of the house, causing some impediment to the firefighters, according to Chief Stone.
No other structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.
A dog found on the scene was collected by Animal Services and taken to the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County to be cared for until the family returned.
