A cornucopia of drugs were seized from a Gifford mobile home as well as two guns, which has landed the resident at the Indian River County Jail.
The Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was sent to the home, located at 3350 50th Place, on Wednesday to execute two warrants – one for a narcotics search and one for the arrest of Jose Guadalupe Hernandez Ayala, 43.
Ayala was found at the home and was taken into custody without incident, according to the arrest report.
A search of the home ensued and the SWAT team recovered a pistol and rifle, oxycodone, ecstasy, alprazolam, cocaine, marijuana, and assorted paraphernalia, among other drugs. The team also seized more than $50,500 found in various packages around the home – including one package that contained a bag of cocaine.
Ayala confirmed he is the owner of the .40-caliber Sig Sauer P225 pistol and the .30-caliber Winchester rifle, the report states. However, he denied any knowledge of the drugs found in his bedroom that were out in plain view.
Ayala faces 11 felony charges that include possession with intent to sell as well as trafficking in the various drugs. His bail has been set at $340,000. However, there is a hold placed on him for Immigration and Customs Enforcement – Border Patrol.
