The Sunrise Rotary Vero Beach Club recently gave a donation in the amount of $1,500 to Jessica Schmitt, Executive Director of Literacy Services of Indian River County. The money will be used to purchase 65 Picture Dictionaries, which will provide a resource of real-life vocabulary needed for teaching both literacy and “English as a Second Language” students.
Rotarian Christian Steinkrauss is a volunteer with the organization.
Literacy Services of Indian River County (LSIRC) is committed to providing quality literacy tutoring to local adults so that they and their family can become more contributing members of the community through improved literacy skills.
Their vision is to end generational illiteracy throughout the county.
