Vero Beach Theatre Guild presents 2 ‘Mastering Audition’ classes

The Vero Beach Theatre Guild is excited to announce two Master Classes in auditioning taught by Michael Naffziger. Each workshop is designed for either the beginner, intermediate or experienced actor who wishes to learn more about his or her craft.

Registration can be done in person or by phoning the box office Monday thru Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The box office will accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover card, cash or check. Registration is available online at verobeachtheatreguild.com. A $2 service fee applies to online registrations.

Registration deadline for the Jan. 11 Monologue Audition Class will be Wednesday, Jan. 8, and the deadline for the Feb. 8 Musical Auditioning Class will be Wednesday, Feb. 5.

Class sizes are limited to 25 students each and enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis. It is anticipated that these classes will fill up rapidly.

Mastering the Monologue Audition – $40

Most theatrical auditions call for a monologue under three minutes! This class is to help the actor not only master the monologue, but prepare the audition as a whole. Students who take this class should prepare (memorize) a 2-3 minute monologue before the class date.

16 bars! Musical Auditioning 101 – $50

Most musical theatre auditions call for 16 bars of music and a short monologue. This class is to help the actor not only master their audition music, but prepare the audition as a whole. Students who take this class should come with sheet music (in the correct key) and a prepared (memorized) one minute monologue from a musical. Students will learn how to select the bars of music from their selected song, how to approach the accompanist, and how to slate, creating a stellar musical theatre audition. Pianist provided.
