Douglas Stuart Zapf, 76, Vero Beach
Douglas Stuart Zapf, 76, of Vero Beach, passed away Dec. 17, 2019, at Treasure Coast Hospice. He was born in Boston, Mass., to the late Norman F. and Mildred Anderson Zapf.
Mr. Zapf was a graduate of University of Tennessee, having earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business. He was also a graduate in Law Enforcement from Indian River State College.
Mr. Zapf was the owner/operator of Zapf Groves, Inc., Vero Beach.
He was an accomplished artist who loved oil painting.
Mr. Zapf was a member of Community Church of Vero Beach.
He was a Reserve Officer for Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
Survivors include daughter, Roxane Gibbons; son, John Zapf; granddaughter, Dana Gibbons; grandson, Tristan Gibbons; brother, Frederick Zapf; sisters, Shirley Zapf Brooks and Laura Zapf Gilbert.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Shirley Hammond Zapf.
