The Interfaith Community of Indian River County presented the Food Pantry of Indian River County a check for the amount of $2,250 on Tuesday, Nov. 26. This amount was raised through a free-will offering that was given at the Interfaith Thanksgiving Service the night before at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach.
The check was presented to Scott Turner of the Food Pantry of Indian River County the following day at the Interfaith Community’s monthly luncheon.
This Interfaith Service featured spoken and musical contributions from a wide variety of local faith traditions and their congregations where more than 420 people attended. Because of the success of this year’s Interfaith Thanksgiving Service, plans are being made for a similar service for the community next year on the Monday before Thanksgiving Day where the proceeds of the free-will offering will again be given to a local non-profit organization.
