Patricia M. Atkinson, 84, Vero Beach
Patricia M. Atkinson, 84, of Vero Beach, passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019. She was born in Mishawaka, Ind., and was raised in Somerville, Mass.
Patricia was a seasonal resident, sharing her time in both Vero Beach and Miller Place, N.Y.
Patricia was a proud member of the United States Army Nurses Corp. for five years.
She was a graduate of Cambridge City Hospital School of Nursing.
Mrs. Atkinson retired from running her beloved husband’s dental practice.
She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach.
Mrs. Atkinson was a volunteer at Long Island State Veterans Home, of Stony Brook, N.Y. She was also an advocate for children, as a Guardian ad Litem.
Mrs. Atkinson is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Tom (Alisa), Elizabeth (Steven), and Joyce (Matt); and her grandchildren, Sarah (Joel), Sophie (Max), Kevin, Liam, Zack, and Cole.
She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers.

James A. D’Alessandro, 71, Sebastian
James A. D’Alessandro, 71, of Sebastian, passed away Nov. 14, 2019, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. James was born May 28, 1948, and grew up in New Rochelle, N.Y., before moving to Sebastian in 1989.
He was an Auto Technician for a total of 40 years, working in Greenwich, Ct., as well as Vero Beach.
In his younger days, he was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed many fishing trips to Montauk Long Island, N.Y., with his son and friends. He also spent many summer vacations with his family in Lake George, N.Y., in the Adirondack Mountains.
He was a sports enthusiast, loving football, and NASCAR racing.
Jimmy will be dearly missed by his family, loved ones and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, JoEllen (Picone) D’Alessandro; and his sister and brother-in-law, Louise and William Balestrieri; and other in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, James J. D’Alessandro.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in his name to the VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach, 901 37th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
There will be no public arrangements.
Christopher Lee Doty, 39, Sebastian
Christopher Lee Doty, 39, of Sebastian, passed away on Nov. 12, 2019, at Lawnwood Medical Center in Fort Pierce. He was born Dec. 19, 1979.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 10 a.m. to service time at 11 a.m. at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S. Fleming St. Sebastian.
A service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sebastian City Cemetery.
Carolyn L. Peeler, 75, Vero Beach
Carolyn L. Peeler, 75, of Vero Beach, passed away on Nov. 12, 2019, at Sebastian River Medical Center. She was born Nov. 1, 1944.
