The Countryside Family Farms Fall Festival continues weekends through Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday.
Getting lost in the corn maze has become a fall family tradition for many, but it’s more than a maze, as past attendees will attest. In fact, it’s a full-blown fall festival with attractions for all ages to enjoy.
“While the big draw has always been the actual corn maze, we are finding many people spend most of their time on the many other attractions we offer,” said Cheryl Roseland, whose family owns and operates Countryside Family Farms, which also hosts a u-pick-em strawberry patch and flower patch. “Every year we add attractions to enhance the outdoor experience, and this year is no different!”
With a theme of “Support Florida Farmers,” the maze incorporates the new Countryside Family Farms logo and the recently-opened El Sid Taqueria.
El Sid tacos are on the menu and will be available, so if you haven’t visited their recently-open location on Ocean Drive, it’s your chance to sample their incredible tacos!
The “CORNundrums” are back and strategically located throughout the maze to keep you guessing and provide a little extra incentive to explore the entire maze.
Last year a hayride and jumping pillow were introduced to the fun, and they return this year, included in the price of admission.
Additional attractions include the air cannon, kiddie train rides, barnyard ball zone, rat roller, giant chess, bull lasso, rubber ducky races, tetherball, corn hole toss, corn crib, face painting, giant tic tac toe, hillbilly hootenanny music station, pumpkins, ring toss, and an old Florida nature trail.
Oh, and if you have ever wanted to deface a car with graffiti, you’ll have your chance!
“Kernel Corn” and the “Pumpkin Princess” will be on hand to add a little magic to the day and will be available for photo ops. You’ll want to be sure to bring your cameras and iPhones, because there are plenty of photo ops for Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat.
You’ll definitely work up an appetite, but have no fear — the good folks at Countryside Family Farms have that covered, too! Of course there will be plenty of beverages on hand to keep you hydrated, including fresh-squeezed lemonade. In addition, they’ll have such eats as good ‘ol hamburgers and hot dogs, fries, pig on a stick, chicken tenders, pickle sticks and kettle corn – and don’t forget the El Sid tacos.
While there you will want to visit the Country Store to check out all the goodies, and cool off with their one-of-a-kind OJ slushie layered with vanilla soft-serve. Snowballs and flavored soft-serve ice cream are also available.
Looking for a little night life and want an extra challenge? Flashlight nights return Nov. 1 and 2 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Bring your own flashlight and explore the maze while still participating in many of the other attractions.
Admission is $11.95 plus tax if you buy online at www.CountrysideFamilyFarms.com and includes all attractions except the air cannon. Admission is $14.95 plus tax if purchased at the gate. Children two and under are FREE.
