Panel to discuss abstract art at Center for Spiritual Care

Ellen Fischer, one of the most highly regarded art commentators in South Central Florida, will chat with abstract painters Ian Maguire and Tim Sanchez at the Center for Spiritual Care Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 6:30 p.m.

With Maguire, Fischer will explore the sources and ideas behind the work in his exhibition, “I Am Ian,” now at the Center through Nov. 29.

She will touch on the meaning and importance of mentorship with Sanchez, a longtime art educator as well as one of Vero’s most successful professional artists.

Fischer’s own resume as a painter is wide-ranging, including many solo and group shows, and her work is included in museum and private collections throughout the Midwest and East. Her MFA is from the Chicago Art Institute.

She has been curator of collections at the Vero Beach and the Greater Lafayette Museums of Art and director of the Littleton Collection in Ft. Pierce. A professional art appraiser, she is regularly called on as a juror for competitive exhibitions and art fairs.

The Center is located at 1550 24th Street at the corner of 16th Ave. in historic downtown Vero Beach. 772-567-1233 or www.centerforspiritualcare.org
