VERO BEACH – McKee Botanical Garden recently announced its 2019-2020 fall and winter educational class & workshop schedule for adults, children, and families, including the Children’s Garden Grand Opening Events in January. This year the Garden’s schedule features cooking classes, two series of yoga classes, painting, flower arranging, jewelry and wreath making, a lecture on Diseases and Pests of Orchids, Fossil Discovery Hour, Ibex Puppetry Parade, several art projects for children, and more.
Pre-registration and advance payment are required for all of these classes and space is limited.
In addition, the Garden will be featuring the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra’s Once Upon an Orchestra Children’s Music Series, a series of “Ask McKee’s Horticulture Experts” sessions, and an opportunity to participate in a Drum Circle in the Garden. All of these activities are complimentary with a paid admission to the Garden. McKee members are free. Registration is not required for these activities.
New this year, Vero Beach Magazine and McKee Botanical Garden are presenting their Spring Garden Tours, sponsored by Moulton Layne Architects and Premier Estate Properties. Each month from February through April, participants will take a chartered bus to one of Florida’s exquisite Gardens including Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales on February 5, 2020, Harry P. Leu Gardens in Orlando on March 4, 2020, and the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach on April 1, 2020. Guest speakers include Marion de Vogel, great granddaughter of Arthur G. McKee, Jayne Clifford of Sealantro at the Garden Café, and Landscape Architect, Elizabeth A. Gillick. Each tour includes transportation to and from each Garden, a guided tour, lunch, snacks provided by The Village Beach Market, and free time to explore on your own.
