Cops seek citizens’ assistance in cracking auto burglary case

Weeks following an auto burglary, the Port St. Lucie Police Department is reaching out to the public in the hope that someone knows something about the suspects.

The burglary occurred on Aug. 27 in the early-morning hours in the area of SE Carnation Road and SE Sidonia Street. At least two suspects are believed to be involved, entering multiple work trucks and vans.

Authorities did not release details as to what the burglars took from the vehicles or how many vehicles were hit. Police did not say if the vehicles were secured or not at the time of the burglaries.

The police department has often encouraged the public to remember to secure their vehicles and remove valuables from sight.

Surveillance footage in the area shows the burglars gaining access to vehicles between 2:15 a.m. and 2:38 a.m., leaving the area in a white Nissan sedan.

The suspects are described as possibly white males with medium builds. Both wore a light-colored hoodie. One was wearing dark pants and light-colored sneakers while the other wore light-colored pants and dark sneakers.
