Sirens broke through the quiet morning on Aug. 14 when Brevard County Fire Rescue stations 62, 63 and 64, along with Indialantic Station 57, responded to a house fire at 8:45 a.m. in the 500 block of Pinetree Street in unincorporated Indialantic.
According to Patrick Voltaire, assistant chief of fire operations for BCFR, no one was home at the time of the incident. “Damage was contained to the kitchen area,” Voltaire said.
Voltaire said the homeowners requested assistance from the Red Cross for two adults and two children. The Red Cross assists those affected by disasters, like a house fire, with basic necessities that can include food, water and shelter.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
