Laura C. Heaney, 60, Sebastian

Laura C. Heaney, 60, died July 30, 2019, at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian. Laura was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Joyce and Joseph Bilek.

She had been a home health care aid before her retirement.

Survivors include her life partner, Bob Lilley; daughters, Sydney Goff, of Vero Beach, Kerri Heaney Hurst, of Sebastian, and Jamie Heaney Lanier, of Palm Bay; son, Lucas Goff; and grandchildren, Teresa Lanier and Zandy Lanier.

Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.

There are no scheduled services.

 

Lillian Nolan Horton, 85, Vero Beach

Lillian Nolan Horton, 85, of Vero Beach

passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2019. She was born Nov. 14, 1933, in Lowell, Mass., to the late Albert and Marjorie Nolan.

She welcomed all to her life and brought joy and light to those who knew her.

For more than 25 years, Lillian was a volunteer at Indian River Medical Center and Habitat for Humanity. She was an active member of the Vero Beach Bridge Club and an avid reader.

She was a former Deacon and committed volunteer at First Presbyterian Church Vero Beach.

Lillian is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Eugene Horton; daughters, Pamela (Leo) Morgenstern and Susan (Mark) Lizotte; and adoring grandchildren, Lillian Morgenstern, Amelia Morgenstern, Elizabeth Qua, and Matthew Qua.

She was predeceased by her twin brother, Leonard Nolan; sister, Isabelle MacShane and brother, Bill Nolan.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, at First Presbyterian Church Vero Beach.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church Vero Beach Endowment Fund, 520 Royal Palm Blvd., Vero Beach, FL 32960.

 

David James Kipp, 61, Sebastian

David James Kipp, 61, died Aug. 1, 2019, at his residence in Sebastian, with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and moved to Satellite Beach, Fla., in 1968 and retired to Sebastian in 1986.

David was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

He worked as a laboratory technologists at Indian River Medical Center for 33 years.

David was a member of the Melbourne Yacht Club where he housed his beautiful boat “Monplaisir.” He and his wife loved to go sailing along with friends and family, who were always up for an adventure.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Sandra Kay Kipp; stepson, Paul Evans; brothers, Donald Kipp, Bill Kipp and Philip Kipp; sisters, Susan Benhardus and Carolyn Eighmie; nephews and nieces Shane Kipp, Donald Kipp, Nellene Benhardus, James Benhardus, Michael Kipp, Dawn Kennedy-Robb; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins.

Visitation will be held 3:30-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Strunk Funeral Home Chapel, 1623 North Central Ave., Sebastian, followed by a Celebration of David’s Life at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory, Sebastian, Florida.

 

Michael Joseph McCartney, 82, Vero Beach

Michael Joseph McCartney, 82, passed away July 31, 2019, at his home in Vero Beach.

He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a graduate from Inter-American University of Puerto Rico.

He was a family man, who taught his children by example.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; their children; and grandchildren.

Michael will be laid to rest at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

 

Charles T. Radford Jr., 74, Sebastian

Charles T. Radford Jr., 74, passed away suddenly on Aug. 2, 2019, at Sebastian River Medical Center. He was born in Audubon, N.J., on Jan. 5, 1945. He was the son of the late Charles T. Radford Sr. and Elizabeth Radford (nee Falls).

He was a retired sheet metal worker and member of Local #19 out of Philadelphia, Pa., for 50 years, and a proud Naval Veteran and member of the V.F.W.

Charles was an avid motorcycle rider, member of ABATE, and former member of BOSS Motorcycle Club.

He was the beloved husband of Judy Radford. Survivors include three daughters, Donna, Debbie, and Denise; two stepdaughters, Denise and Tracy; and 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, Aug. 8, from 10:30 a.m. – Noon with services at Noon p.m. at the Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S. Fleming Street, Sebastian.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of their choice.
